Don’t mix your drinks – that argument from manufacturers of rose wine has won out. EU Agriculture Commissioner Mariann Fischer Boel has abandoned plans to allow rose to be made by blending red and white wine.
That idea had angered quality rose makers in France, Italy and Spain, which are the world’s three leading wine producers. Winegrowers feared it would endanger traditional rose production and lead to thousands of job losses
